3 on the Bund are an exciting band that came together in March of 2019 after meeting in the University of Limerick's prestigious Irish World Academy. Their complex, layered arrangements consist of both traditional and newly composed tunes which are played with an energy and a passion that is completely authentic.
The band's 4 members are from varied musical backgrounds which contributes to their diverse sound; Aisling Lyons who plays harp and concertina is from County Clare, Rebecca McCarthy-Kent on fiddle and piano is from Tramore in County Waterford, Seán Kelliher on guitar and banjo comes from County Kerry and finally, Simon Pfisterer who is originally from Bavaria, Germany, is the uilleann piper of the group. As individuals, all are award-winning and accomplished performers. As a group, they have already travelled to Beijing, Shanghai, the U.K and the United States.

Seán Kelliher - Guitar & Banjo
Seán began to learn Irish music at the age of 7. From a very young age, Seán always had a passion for performing traditional Irish music. In 2013, Sean took home gold at the All Ireland Fleadh in Derry. In 2016, Sean was awarded the Micheál Ó hEidhin medallion in Comhaltas headquarters in Dublin for receiving 4 distinctions from his Senior Cycle 8 Comhaltas examination. To date, Seán has performed all over Ireland while also travelling abroad on many occasions to parts of England, Wales, France, Germany Sweden, Italy and The Netherlands. Recently, Sean has toured around China, to parts of Beijing and Shanghai, as part of the 2019 St Patrick's day celebrations while also travelling to the USA to perform at the NAFSA Conference in Washington D.C in May of 2019. Seán is currently studying Performing Arts (Irish music) at the Irish world Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick.
Rebecca McCarthy Kent - Fiddle & Piano
Rebecca McCarthy Kent is a multi instrumentalist, equally accomplished in both classical and traditional music. She has won multiple Fleadh Ceoil All-Ireland titles in both fiddle and piano and is the current Bonn Óir Seán Ó Riada champion for 2019. Rebecca has toured nationally and internationally with different musical groups in Germany, Canada, USA, Dubai, Romania, China and many more. Rebecca is a qualified primary school teacher and has achieved first place in the TTCT teaching diploma in Irish music. Rebecca also achieved a First Class Honours for her Masters Degree in Irish Music Performance at the University of Limerick.


Simon Pfisterer - Uilleann Pipes & Whistles
Simon, originally from Bavaria in Germany, started to play various kinds of different bagpipes at the age of 8 and finally found his love for Irish music and especially the Uilleann Pipes in 2011. Simon recently completed the BA programme in Irish Traditional Music and Dance at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance in Limerick. During his studies, Simon attended classes under the tution of Blackie O'Connell and various guest tutors. Simon has been performing with his bands, projects and as a solo artist at festivals and concerts all across Europe, in China and the United States.
Aisling Lyons - Harp & Concertina
Aisling Lyons is an 8 times All-Ireland Champion harpist & concertina player from County Clare, Ireland. Aisling grew up in a musical home & went on to study music at The Irish World Academy of Music & Dance in Limerick where she graduated with First Class Honours. Aisling is now studying for her Masters degree in Music Education at The Irish World Academy where she is the current harp tutor. Alongside teaching with Music Generation in Clare, she is much sought after as a teacher & performer in Ireland & abroad. Aisling has travelled to Australia, Norway, the U.K, U.S.A, Canada, China, France & Germany giving various workshops & performances.
